Music Ministry
The Spring offers an exciting variety of music to enrich the worship experience. We believe that Sunday morning is a time to put the anxieties and frustrations of the past week behind you and spend time in honor and worship of God, getting lost in his Spirit and his truth. Music is a vital part of that experience at North Spring. We strive to use the music in the services to deepen your worship time with God, to build up your faith, to build up each other, to experience God's joy and to enhance the sermon theme.
If you are interested in any of our musical groups, we would love to have you join us. Whether you are a professional musician or just a music lover, we have a place for you! It is our hope that everyone who participates in the music ministries program is challenged to grow in Christ and to experience God's unconditional love through the love of music that we all share. Below are the groups that we currently offer and we ask that you prayerfully consider what God would have you do with the musical gift He has given you.
Selah
The word, Selah, comes from the Book of Psalms. Selah is there to signal the believer to 'measure' carefully the meaning of what has been said. i.e., here is wisdom, reflect and understand. Just as the Hebrew word Amen [amen] is an exclamation of confidence or truth and certainty of what has been said, so Selah [celah], is an exclamation that we should measure and reflect upon what has been said. Our group, Selah, is a vocal group consisting of teens and adults who have a heart for worship. The songs they bring are more traditional choral pieces, thought provoking worship songs and original works from such composers as Tom Fettke, Chris Tomlin and Brenton Brown. The worship music of Selah hopefully will cause you to reflect and understand the wisdom and instruction of God.
SoulFood
SoulFood is a group of musicians who sing and/or play instruments and love to worship God through music. This group presents contemporary Christian and new worship music. From guitars to keyboards to drums to tambourines, SoulFood is bringing new life to our worship experience.
