Senior Pastor
Hubert Neth
Pastor Hubert joined North Spring in July 2009. Hubert is a native of rural Clay County, Missouri. He is a graduate of William Jewell College and St. Paul School of Theology, studying also at Butler University and Christian Theological Seminary. He has served congregations is Newtown and Veedersburg, Indiana and Gladstone, Princeton, Warrensburg and Kansas City in addition to a term as Superintendent of the Sedalia District. Hubert has been a resident of Lee’s Summit for 22 years and was pastor of Lee’s Summit United Methodist Church for 12 years.
Since retirement, he has served as pastor for varying periods in the Kansas City area churches, most recently at Oakland UMC nearby. He is a former member of the Board of Trustees of Baker University and St. Paul School of Theology. He was elected a delegate to 3 General Conferences and 5 Jurisdictional Conferences. He serves currently on the Board of Trustees of Lee’s Summit Medical Center.
Hubert publishes a poem weekly in the Friday edition of the Lee’s Summit Journal. His work has appeared in the KC Star, Christian Century, small-press journals and a few refrigerator doors. His wife, Barbara, is a watercolor artist and has exhibited frequently in Blue Springs. Her work is on display at Powell Gardens during July and August and appears in several venues in the metro area. The Neths have 5 grandchildren.

Music Director
Heidi Rater
Heidi joined the staff at North Spring in the Fall of 2008. She was active in the music department for several years before that. Heidi has a music education degree from the University of Central Missouri. She taught music in Missouri and also served as choir director at Wesley United Methodist in Ottumwa, Iowa. Heidi helps us worship God with a variety of music at our weekly service, helps with children’s music, and directs our Selah singing group.

Youth Director
Dave Taylor
Dave joined our staff in May of 2009. He has been an active member of North Spring for several years. He has been actively involved with the youth group at this church since January of 2008. In addition to directing CIA at North Spring, Dave has been actively involved with the A/V equipment and support for worship services since 2005. Dave is a degreed Mechanical Engineer working for a large mold and tool building company in Lee’s Summit, MO. The most important goal of his ministry is helping young adults to grow in their spiritual relationship with Christ. He also works toward helping youth form meaningful, lasting relationships with other Christian youth. Dave is a very dedicated person who enjoys helping youth find interesting ways to spend time with God, and in helping them interpret their feelings and how they relate to Christianity. Meetings might include creating unique worship services, digging deeper Bible studies, and spontaneous melodramas, not to mention leadership retreats and mission trips.

Office Manager
Heather Sooley
Heather joined our staff part-time in the Spring of 2003. She has an upbeat, energetic approach to office management which keeps us organized! Hers is the friendly voice you are most likely to hear when you call North Spring.
Heather received an Associate in Applied Science, a General Business Degree, and Multimedia Technology certification from Longview Community College. Prior to attending Longview, she accumulated an assortment of credits at CMSU in Warrensburg in Graphic Art Technology, Business Administration, and Computer Information Systems. Her diverse background is helping to make things happen in the office. Two of her many responsibilities are editing our monthly newsletter, The WellSpring, and producing the Sunday morning bulletins, which include weekly announcements and the weekly calendar of events.
