June 22-28 2008 - Mission Trip to Greensburg Kansas
Please prayerfully consider joining us this summer on a most unique mission trip experience.
Destination Greensburg, Kansas. We will leave June 22, after church and return home on June 28. We will be partnering with Hope UMC in Lone Jack. The estimated cost is $150 per person.
The town of Greensburg was devastated by a tornado two years ago. There are still few services available, partly because of the minimal amount of sleeping arrangements for mission volunteers. We will be staying in camping trailers or tents if necessary. I am told showers and cooking facilities are not a problem - but room to sleep is at a premium. Eating out will probably require traveling to a nearby town and then there may not be many choices.
Heartland south owns a camping trailer that sleeps 6 or so. Please let me know if you have a camper or large tent. This should prove to be a unique, quality experience.
Sign up now to reserve your spot on the trip. Contact Amy Gragg to sign up or for more information.

June 26-27, 2008 - The Love Liner - A Theatrical Event!
A 70’s interactive dinner theatre about the pursuit of love, liberty and lava lamps. Put on your ‘smiley face’ and ‘hustle’ on board the Love Liner, a Love Boat-like cruise ship traveling back in time to 1976 to celebrate ‘Love, American Style’ and our nations Bicentennial.
The entire program takes place in the dining room of The Love Liner. As the play begins, the ship has just departed Miami for a five-night cruise through the Caribbean. The story takes place on the first night of that cruise during the dinner meal where King’s Cruises will premiere their new and improved show, “Countdown to America’s Bicentennial”. Ralph, the cruise director, has been tasked with Ralph, whose personal life is in a bit of disarray, is at a loss of how to put this show together. When his staff of “Good Samaritans” come to his rescue they all learn the importance of sacrificing personal needs for the needs of another.
The Love Liner is an offbeat rendition of the Good Samaritan story in Luke, chapter 10. More precisely, it is a response to the question posed by a self-righteous religious leader who asked, “And who is my neighbor?” Jesus’ response was a parable or story, which admonished the man to help those in need.
Ticket prices are $20 and need to be purchased in advance in order to have the necessary amount of dinners. Please contact Sheila Cage for tickets.
